This is one of the most frequently asked questions when you learn about the benefits of Astara's car subscription. You like it, it sounds good, you're convinced, but... what kind of insurance do you offer and what does it cover? What does "deductible" mean?
Let's start at the beginning. As you have seen on our website, the fees include -besides unlimited use of the vehicle in our personal catalogue- maintenance, taxes and insurance. We proudly state that Astara Move's insurance is among the most comprehensive on the market, and we say this after carefully studying the insurance offered by other similar services.
Analyzing the different types of insurance, we can say that the ones with the least coverage are known as third-party insurance. These policies cover material and personal damages caused to third parties but do not cover damage to your own car. You may also have heard of extended third-party insurance, which includes coverage for more significant incidents such as theft, fire or window breakage.
The category with the highest coverage and, therefore, the greatest peace of mind for the driver, is comprehensive insurance. With these insurance policies, not only are damages caused to third parties covered, but the insurance company also covers the repair costs for your own vehicle. Obviously, the cost of comprehensive insurance is higher, but so is the quality and quantity of assurance for the policyholder. They know that if an accident happens, such as a column moving while parking, their insurance will take care of the repair costs.
Comprehensive car insurance with a deductible is a formula where the insured assumes the repair costs of their vehicle up to a certain amount. In the case of Astara Move, comprehensive insurance includes a deductible of 500 euros. This means that the first 500€ of repair costs are paid by the driver who had the accident. Any cost exceeding that amount will be covered by Astara Move.
This insurance has two consequences:
a. Rewards responsible drivers: If you take care of the car as if it were your own and return it without any damage, your additional cost will be zero. So, open the door with the same care you would if the car next to it were yours.
b. Unfortunately, not everything is within our control and accidents are part of everyday life: If you have that misfortune, with comprehensive insurance with deductible, your liability will be limited to that deductible amount and any cost exceeding that amount will be covered by the insurance.
