Can I obtain the SER card
with a subscription car?

At Astara Move, we want you to feel like the car is yours. We believe that subscribing to a car should be such a satisfying experience that you enjoy all the benefits of owning a car but with the flexibility to change it whenever you need. So, the answer to the question posed in the title of this entry should be YES ...as long as you have it with you for at least 6 months.

Many of you ask if you can obtain the resident card with an Astara Move subscription car to park at a much lower price in regulated parking zones. The answer is that many movers have been doing this for a long time.

Taking Madrid as a reference -where most movers live and probably the city with the most square kilometers of SER (Regulated Parking Service) zones- their own website, which compiles the information and requirements to access this card, clarifies that "in a renting, leasing, or rental agreement with a company whose business is vehicle rental," you can apply for the permit by providing "the renting, leasing, or rental contract showing the resident as the lessee, the lessor, the start and end dates of the lease, and the vehicle’s license plate".

Based on our experience, you will need to prove that you are a resident and a user of a vehicle with the following documents:

• Astara Move-provider lease certificate, which our customer care department will provide to demonstrate that the vehicle belongs to Astara Move's stock.
• Astara Move-client subscription contract (with a minimum duration of 6 months). You can download it from your client area.
• Technical data sheet of the vehicle. It is in the glove compartment of the vehicle.*
• Vehicle registration certificate. Also in the glove compartment.*
• ID card. We hope we don't need to tell you where you have it stored.
• Driver’s license. Check your wallet, it's probably next to your ID card.

Two Options: SER Card or Electric Mobility

The advantages of having a resident card are not limited to being able to park at a minimal cost (less than €25 per year), but it also eliminates driving restrictions during high pollution scenarios. However, for these cases, we recommend that you start taking your first steps in electric mobility, if you haven't already. We know you have your fears and concerns, but with a pay-per-use proposal (whether by minutes or hours through GoTo Spain-Astara Move's carsharing or with the monthly subscription of fun vehicles like Fiat 500e or Microlino), you can gradually and at your own pace see for yourself that electric mobility can also be for you.

In addition to the obvious environmental benefits of electric vehicles, in most municipalities with regulated parking zones, they are exempt from payment. So, you choose, but whatever your option, Astara Move will offer you a mobility solution that allows you to exercise your right to move, flexibly and adapting to changes in your life.
